The HD X-Member from JKS replaces the chassis-mounted crossmember – and transfer case skid plate, if installed – with a much stronger, more protective design that is capable of supporting the full weight of the vehicle. Unlike the factory components, which often behave like rock magnets, our HD X-Member is specifically designed to slide over obstacles instead of stopping the vehicle in its tracks!

The new crossmember easily bolts to the original mounting location, and is constructed of 2" x 4" rectangular tubing with a 0.250" material thickness for increased strength and integrity. The new, heavy duty skid plate is formed from 1.25" x 0.120" round structural tubing and thick 3/16" plate steel. The entire assembly is fused together with deep penetrating MIG welds and powdercoated for protection from corrosion.

The JKS HD X-Member even provides additional ground clearance by shifting the transfer case upward approximately 1/4" on vehicles with manual transmissions, and approximately 5/8" on automatic equipped vehicles. The versatile design accommodates all Jeep® Cherokee XJ transfer cases, as well as the Atlas II™ by Advanced Adapters.

Note: Some 2000-2001 models must use 1984-1999 transmission mount for proper fitment.
